최지연은 부모님 사이에서 1남 1녀 중 둘째로 태어났고 1995년 아역 연극배우로 첫 데뷔하고 2005년 마법전사 미르가온의 히로인 최아라 역할을 맡으며 살고 있다가 2009년 연예계를 은퇴하여 서민으로 살고 있다가 2023년에 안방극장으로 전격 복귀하여 연기자로 복귀를 하면서 현재는 인스타그램을 가지고 있다. 그래서 춘천여자고등학교를 졸업한 상태였기 때문이다.
