시작[편집]
한국과학기술연구원(KIST) 벤처단지에 2000년 설립된 환경 관련 기업 테크크로스는 자체 개발한 전기분해 기술을 이용한 소독 시스템을 개발한 뒤 토지폐수 처리 사업을 시작했다. IMO(국제해사기구)는 2004년에 밸러스트 수중의 유해 미생물에 의한 해양환경 파괴를 방지하기 위한 BWM조약을 제정하고 텍클로스는 BWMS 개발에 착수했다.
The world's first BWMS[편집]
Techcross developed the BWMS by grafting their own existing electrolysis technology to ballast water treatment. The company obtained a basic approval in 2006 for the first time in the world and final approval in 2008 for the first time in South Korea and third time in the world.
